When a student starts as a 5 year old they are 'buddied up' with a senior student. Having a senior buddy helps new students feel they belong and builds their confidence as they get to know others in the school. Having a junior buddy gives senior students an opportunity to show leadership and be a good role model in our school.
The buddy programme reinforces our Catholic values of a family of learners together who look out for each other. Each week the buddies have time together with senior students teaching juniors skills that need 1-1 like skipping, throwing and catching, computers skills, reading or other activities related to the topic.
Senior buddies help their juniors at school events like the Triathalon.
